I’ve always had a passion for making spaces as beautiful as possible

I am a stickler for doing things properly. After being made redundant from my job as a financial crime analyst, I had the opportunity to decorate our home myself — something I’d always assumed that as a time-poor, employed person I’d hire a professional for.

During this time I realised that it wasn’t just the painting, I was enjoying but it was all the planning and research of materials and products and also the mountain of prep work. This time and effort paid off as the results are top notch. To be honest I also enjoyed all the fantastic feedback from friends and family too!

That experience sparked a mid‑career shift I didn’t see coming but absolutely love. I went on to complete my City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating and have been working professionally ever since.
